'I do love that jingle. Do you think they worked hard on that song?
“What do you have so far, Bill?”
“Uh uhm, Hot Pocket.”
“That’s good. That’s very good. Not as good as your ‘By Mennen’, but it’s good.”'
And now I present to you, dear reader, a few of the random smatterings of jingles, commercials and other random marketing placements from the past that sometimes get stuck in my head. Just to prove that I can't possibly remember new things, because my head is SO FULL of all this other crap I don't need.
(BTW: isn't our new baby elephant adorable???)
"Think of all the things you would and wouldn't have to do if you lived at Hogle Zoo. You wouldn't have to take a bath unless you wanted to, and you could spend the whole day long just lying in the pool.
You could eat when you got hungy and you wouldn't have to clean up your plate.
You could sleep in if you wanted to and you could stay up late.
Think of all the things you would and wouldn't have to do if you lived at Hogle Zoo."
My buddy (my buddy) my buddy (my buddy) -- My buddy and me!
(now repeat the song with "Kid Sister") "My Buddy," a real pal. "Kid Sister," a girl's best friend.
Get your skis shined up, grab a stick of Juicy Fruit. The taste is gonna move ya.
Take a sniff, (SNIFF) pull it out, the taste is gonna move ya when you pop it in your mouth.
Juicy Fruit! The taste, the taste, the taste is gonna move ya.
Some times some crimes go slipping through the cracks
but these two gum shoes are pickin up the slack
There's no place too big, no place too small - if you need help just call
c-c-c-chip and dales (rescue rangers) ch-ch-ch-chip and Dales (when there's danger).
(okay, that's not a theme song, but I could do the same thing with late 80's slash early 90's telivision)
Oh when the clock strikes half past 6 babe. bleh bleh bleh bleh. bleh bleh bleh.
It's a good time for a great taste (McDonalds) -- Big Mac Tonight!
(creepy, no?)
Okay, friends. This is the end of our flashback down memory lane. Let this be a vital lesson to be more stingy with your brain space as a child. And let this be a lesson to all the marketing people out there to remember that with great power comes great responsibility... F'rills.

you're so great! thanks for putting all of those jingles in my head....I'll probably be singing them to myself all day;)
Yup. The My Buddy song frequently pops out of my mouth. I haven't heard it on TV in YEARS, yet there it is. On the tip of my tongue. Way more often than it should be. It's funny how we remember these commercials from our childhood. The advertisers during Saturday morning cartoons knew what they were doing, eh?
You are a freak show.
And I love you.
Hey good luck with the move. It's rough - just went through a move across the country - but once you're settled it's pretty cool to look around and see all the new areas to explore. Have fun!
