When you're engaged

A list/blog by Sarah Timms.

When you're engaged your life goes from busy to "I can schedule you in next Thursday at lunch, or Saturday from 1-4."

When you're engaged photographers want you to kiss in front of them. When it's your dad (and he's asking your fiance to nibble your neck and make you laugh) it's awkward.

When you're engaged you feel like you can't blog because it won't be cool enough or "wedding" enough for your readers. (my many... many readers... :) )

When you're engaged time goes unreasonably fast.

When you're engaged "to do" lists do NOT go unreasonably fast. They get unreasonably long.

When you're engaged people think it's cool to ask things like "How many days until your wedding?" is this a quiz, or do you need a calendar... 12. "are you excited?" yes, duh. or else why would I be engaged? "are you getting cold feet yet?" no, but even if I was, wouldn't tell you. "so are you going to go on a diet?" screw you.

When you're engaged sometimes you're so preoccupied with wedding stuff that your real-life seems to be in a second-place position (work? really? You mean I actually have to stay at work ALL day today?)

When you're engaged it seems rational to leave your hairstylist's place and say "see you Saturday, and then next Monday".

When you're engaged you think in bigger numbers. (only $150 for cupcakes? SOLD!... but in real-life, you know $150 is a LOT OF MONEY to spend on cupcakes.)

When you're engaged your mom wants to see what you got from Victoria Secret (and you show her).

When you're engaged sometimes people have to forgive you for things like not getting electronic copies of their engagement photos or their ring to post on the blog... because you completely forgot about it. (okay, here's one from my iPhone)

Being engaged sucks. But once it's over it's all up hill.

Are you sure you're not talking about having kids? Because it's seriously pretty much the same! There's no time, the time that you do have needs to be scheduled, people ask you dumb questions (particularly when pregnant!), and you spend a lot of money. Weddings and kids, they're pretty much the same. By the way, nice post about the spa...if you win do you get to bring a friend??...hint, hint;)
